Park Creek Center, one of the first assisted living facility in Cuyahoga County, was founded in Parma Heights in the converted Stroud Elementary School building. Built on the philosophy of creating a loving and family atmosphere for all residents through caring, culture, and community, Park Creek Center has become a retirement community which will meet every need of older adults while serving as a valuable resource for the entire family. We met recently with Executive Director Martin L. Shulman and Director of Marketing and Admissions Linda Felice, and listened as they described the Park Creek lifestyle;
Park Creek Center is the area's premier family-owned assisted living retirement community featuring fifty-seven efficiency and one bedroom apartments. We are a deliberately casual and cozy apartment community, and our support services are designed to balance each resident's lifestyle, both physically and emotionally. Our entire atmosphere encourages an interactive and supportive environment which contributes to the quality of life for our residents and their families. Our residents range in age from 57 to 99 years of age.
Each of our residents enjoys their own comfortable apartment complete with a kitchenette, free utilities (except telephone and cable TV), and an emergency response system. We offer three home-cooked meals each day, in addition to weekly laundry and housekeeping service. Residents participate in a wide range of daily planned activities, twice weekly trips to Parmatown Mall, and we provide transportation to doctor and dentist appointments. We have an on-site beauty salon and barber shop, and our staffed whirlpool spa featuring music and aromatherapy is a favorite of our residents.
We offer a Plus Care program for residents needing a bit more help. We assist them in getting up, dressing, and going to the dining room. At the end of the day, we help them get into their pajamas, brush their teeth, and get into bed. Medication is monitored by a nurse who is on duty from 7:30 in the morning till midnight, and we have two aides on duty from midnight until the following morning at 7:30. We also offer a room that can be used for respite care for a day, week, or month so family members have the opportunity to go on vacation while being assured their loved one has the care they deserve.
For our residents' comfort, our entire facility is on one level. We have a great room with a full-wall, stone fireplace that reaches the vaulted ceiling, and a cheerful all glass sitting room where residents can enjoy the company of family and friends. Our scenic, wooded location borders the creek, and we have a one half mile long walking path that circles the entire building.
We gladly extend an invitation to you to join us for a free lunch and a tour of our community. Feel free to stay with us and experience the friendship and care of Park Creek by simply giving a call and making a reservation. Tours are available on a walk-in basis or by appointment.
